Silviculture
Maximizing total timber capital value begins with silviculture. In the Pacific Northwest, our reforestation program includes mechanical or chemical site preparation, genetically improved planting stock when appropriate and evaluating species for the site. We practice strict adherence to planting quality control standards via in progress inspection, including follow-up exams to ensure full stocking. We apply additional silvicultural treatments when appropriate, including controlling competing vegetation, thinning to promote growth, and fertilization.

Harvest Operations
The increasing complexity of environmental protection regulations requires us to be creative in maintaining a variety of tools in our harvest operations kit, so that timber harvest and revenue can be effectively managed over time. Our tool kit certainly includes modern technologies, but is principally supported by our experienced and skilled professionals. In the U.S. Pacific Northwest, the varied terrain, from steep mountains to flat valleys, provides us experience in complex harvest layout and logging system operations. We regularly work with ground systems using shovel, skidder, and mechanized methods, as well as complex cable systems.

 Log and Timber Marketing
Value adding alternatives exist at several points along the log supply chain. The first opportunity is at the stump with appropriate falling and bucking techniques, given current market prices and delivery points. Other opportunities exist throughout the handing and transportation network. Green Crow is adept at maximizing log value along the entire supply chain while maintaining strict market imposed quality control guidelines.

Green Crow can also add value when the sale of standing timber is preferred over direct log sales. We efficiently manage the layout, appraisal, and advertising of stumpage sales on a competitive bid basis, as well as providing post sale contract administration and compliance assurance.

 Log Accounting
Our experienced accounting personnel and our time-tested system allow us the flexibility to tailor an information package to the needs of our clients. Our information packages include a complete financial suite with production tracking, reporting, and control as required.
